Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
For someone like Ereshkigal who wants to be surrounded by people yet is very anxious about it all, the setting presents a good middle-ground. The metaplot will also give her a sense of purpose (a problem in a previous games was her getting depressed as she started feeling useless without a greater purpose to follow), but not so overwhelming that she won't be able to live her life a bit.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
At first, rather poorly, but what do you want. This is Ereshkigal we're talking about. Right now, her emotions have been messed with multiples times and while she enjoys her relative "freedom," she's pretty much trying to overcome her sorrow. But eventually, she'll get better, especially as the metaplot kicks in and she gets her drive back.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
Honestly, for her, it's the freedom. And that's not something specific to this game only, it's just that pretty much any world that's not her own is a chance at knowing freedom for her. Something she's never had the chance to know up until now.

Basics

Character Name: Soundwave
Character Age: Over four million years old
Canon: Transformers IDW
Series Info: Wiki and its sequel page, wiki
Canon Point: Transformers: Unicron #5/Post death

Abilities

Character Abilities:

Cybertronian: Soundwave is a tall sapient mechanical being. This makes him VERY durable, hard to kill, and long-lived. He, like any Cybertronian, has the ability to change into an alt mode. His current body frame transforms him into an armored car. He's also equipped with rockets in his boots for flight.

Outlier/Empath: Soundwave is a special Cybertronian in that he has a few extra abilities, making him an Outlier.

Soundwave's Outlier ability extraordinary hearing. He's able to hear a fly sneeze in a bustling city as an example. And because an Outlier ability is weird, it's entirely possible for one to develop their ability and have it mutated to be something different. His super hearing mutated into enabling him to be able to read minds, emotions, and thoughts, thus making him an empath. He is able to establish a telepathic connection with anyone from any distance. Someone is on another planet? He could focus on said someone to talk to them like he's in a face-to-face conversation. Though that doesn't mean his telepathy range is unlimited and it could still be disrupted by an outside source. A loud enough explosion is likely to put him in disarray. Along the same line, Soundwave can disrupt most form of radio transmission and communication.

Holomatter avatar: A solid hard-light projection that is connected to a Cybertronian consciousness. They are designed to blend in with non-Cybertronian populace and interact with things smaller than the typical Cybertronian, i.e. human sized things. Every Cybertronians has the ability to create a holoavatar, Soundwave is no exception. Although the holoavatar is technically a projection, Soundwave is still able to 'feel' his surroundings by way of information feedback being sent back to his real body. That also means any damages or injuries made to the avatar can also be sent back to Soundwave, and anything major could have him suffer significant damage to his brain module or/and potentially his hologenerator burning off. Also holoavatar can bleed. Why it even bleeds, who knows. It just works.

Character Skills:

Skillwise, being in a war for over four million years has made Soundwave into a competent fighter. Although he prefers and is better at strategizing than being in a straight up fistfight. When compared to other Cybertronians, he's strength is above average at best. His specialty, however, spying and information gathering. Being that he has super hearing, he'll make good use of to spy on others (only if he has a good reason to), either to be used as blackmail material or learn about secrets to share with others.

He's also passable Cybertronian medic and engineer since he has rebuilt Cybertronian's body several times before.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?

The exploration aspect would be of particular interest for Soundwave. He's the type to prefer doing something rather than just staying idle, as much as he prefers peace over chaos. One of the themes being societal stratification would be fun to tackle with in particular. Given that he came from a world where societal stratification was a big problem, he has a lot to say about this system and being so familiar with the tension that comes from it. So is the theme of autonomy and selfhood, which past Cybertron society had tried to stifle individuality before. Being in the game also helps with his character growth. Mainly his struggle with loneliness and creating new bonds.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?

Being from a futuristic/highly advanced world himself, he will have no trouble with adjusting to the game world. What may bring him to a pause is the existence of magic, which he isn't entirely doubtful of its existence but rather the few times he had to deal with magic, it's never been a good time. He won't know what magic can do but whatever crazy situation he'll find himself in, he'll find a way to adapt somehow.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?

Ironically enough, magic. While magic does exist in his world, Soundwave never had a chance to study them since he's mostly on Earth at the time while Cybertron was introduced to magic. This time, he'll have the opportunity study magic upclose and try out magic himself. Aside from that, he is interested in how technology and magic co-exist here since his brief and only experience with magic had been at odds with tech back home.

What interests you most about playing this character in this game? Gilgamesh is an adventurer who loves pursuing treasures and challenges. The metaplot of this game will offer a lot of opportunities for a motivated character like him. And I'm bringing this particular iteration (Caster) largely so he won't fight the setting as much ICly, as well as so he and Sakura won't have any IC reason to need to interact.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world? The level of technology and the other-world-ness will be surprising, but Gilgamesh, as a Servant summoned to many eras, is quite adaptable. I'm also thinking of putting him on the tech side to vary things up. He's a mage in this form in canon, so it will give him a different avenue to explore.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise? Gilgamesh likes excitement and pleasure, as well as having a lot of stuff to do. This game setting will have all of that.

[Please answer all questions in one to two sentences minimum, one paragraph maximum. Note: This section is to get players thinking about what they will be doing with their characters in the world and is basically a light suitability screening.]

What interests you most about playing this character in this game? Sakura is a mage in canon, but compared to Rin, who is known for being very encyclopedic with the knowledge of magecraft, she still has a lot to learn. While I would love a cast, her having to go it alone in this world, with its challenges, could also provide a lot of growth opportunities. The technology is out of her element (though Sakura will be going magic side), and in general, there will be lots of growth opportunities. This will be Sakura's first game.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world? The level of technology is somewhat overwhelming, but the magic/tech divide actually won't throw Sakura for as many loops as a lot of characters, given that her canon also has something of a magic/tech divide, what with mages not being very tech-savvy in general. (See also: her sister and the jokes in Carnival Phantasm)

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise? I think she'll find the world interesting and want to learn more and help others along the way. She's not a natural adventurer type like Gilgamesh is, but she is very competent in her own way. All the things in the game world will interest her, and the metaplot will bring opportunities for her, as well.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
I've been itching to play Vincent again for a while and I really miss rping. I really enjoy the setting here and the marrying and yet split of technology and magic. A lot of the themes of the game are a lot of the themes I like to play around with when it comes to my Cyberpunks in general. Most of the primary arcs I work towards for them is overcoming and healing the immense amounts of trauma they have from Night City and their previous lifestyles, and learning how to trust people and just become their healthiest and most able selves. For Vincent in particular he will have to deal with with losing Johnny as well and that's always fun, and figuring out who he is again without Johnny since they had become so entwined over the course of the game. A lot of the themes of the game and the general setting just feels good with relation to Vincent and I'm just excited to be here.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
He will definitely be approaching the game world as someone who grew up in the streets of Night City: he'll feel more at home in criminally active areas and red light districts and the like. Other than that, he will definitely find this to be simultaneously familiar while also being completely alien. The technology and neon and dense city is something he's very comfortable with, but the magic is new and the fact that there are so many plants and the place is so clean. He definitely thinks that the niceness in terms of how pretty things are and the general starting accommodations are a facade over a rotted core like Night City and its denizens. He'll play nice until he figures out his position in this society and then adjust accordingly.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
As much as Vincent pretends he doesn't care about politics, he'll find the push and pull between magic and tech, tradition and the future really interesting. It will be interesting to see how they interact with each other, especially in the context of the different institutions. He is less aware of this but he will also be interested in the stratification of wealth in this city and how it takes care of its poor and disadvantaged, since Night City laughs at and spits in the face of the poor.

Basics

Character Name: Shinmen Musashi-no-Kami Fujiwara-no-Harunobu, known more commonly as Miyamoto Musashi
Character Age: Late twenties when she died
Canon: Fate/Grand Order and Fate/Samurai Remnant
Series Info: (feel free to link a wiki) https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Miyamoto_Musashi_(Lostbelt)#Role everything to Olympus for FGO and a summation for SR because Type-Moon Wiki gonna Type-Moon wiki (it’s bad, fam)
To make a long story short, after dying and becoming a Heroic Spirit and leaving Chaldea, Musashi rayshifted to an alternate Edo a decade or two after the death of her male counterpart, and her Spirit Origin changed to Berserker. Coming to the aide of the famous courtesan of the Yoshiwara Distract Takao Dayu, Musashi agreed to become her Servant in the Waxing Moon Ritual, a knock-off Holy Grail War held together mostly by spit and duct-tape under the auspices of the Shogunate. She briefly fought Samson, a Rogue Berserker terrorizing Yoshiwara, but after her opponent saw Dayu, he calmed down and ended up working alongside them as an unofficial second Servant. Musashi also met that world’s version of her adopted son Miyamoto Iori, who had also been drawn into the Ritual as the Master of Saber, and the two teams entered into an informal alliance of information-sharing, with Musashi helping out Iori several times over the course of the ritual. Eventually however, after the death of Samson, Dayu decided to bow out of the ritual and gave Musashi leave to do as she pleased. Sensing another rayshift coming, just before the ritual entered its final phase, Musashi decided to challenge Iori to a duel, to see how strong he’d become. After an intense battle, neither side holding anything back, Iori managed to defeat his former master by employing a trump card he’d been holding in reserve; a version of Sasaki Kojiro’s Tsubame Gaeshi technique Iori had learned from him after the death of his Musash,i that employed two swords rather than Kojiro’s one. Satisfied, Musashi rayshifted away, turning back into a Saber, and continued with her travels that eventually culminated in her erasure from the cycle of reincarnation in Olympus…or at least it was supposed to.
Canon Point: Post-Olympus from FGO

Abilities

Character Abilities: Musashi is essentially a Saber forced into the role of Berserker, but one that doesn’t suffer from debilitating madness or rage thanks to her EX-ranked Madness Enhancement. Instead, it renders her flightier, rasher, and more impulsive than she is as a Saber (who Berserker Musashi regards as something of a stick in the mud), more prone to flights of fancy and marching to the beat of her own drum. It also amps up her enjoyment of combat as well. With a supply of Mana, Musashi’s spiritual body does not require food or drink, though she can certainly still partake if she chooses (udon noodles remain a favourite meal of hers), and can assume an intangible state to conserve her strength. Mana also powers her Noble Phantasm, Six Path, Five Rings: Kurikara Divine Blade, an Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm that represents the embodiment of “zero”, the “void” that Musashi sought to reach by perfecting Niten Ichiryu, which summons a visage of the Nioh behind her and allows her to attack with mighty strikes. As a Berserker, she can also use her reserves of mana and enhanced physical abilities to perform other special techniques:
Chastise: Musashi throws both swords forwards at a target and then immediately teleports to them to make a follow-up attack.
Five Great Buddhas: Unleashes multicoloured beams of light from manifested jewels of the Five Virtues.
Shock Stream: A powerful forward slash of her swords that creates a wave of power in front of them.
Character Skills: As a drifter across worlds after her original timeline was pruned, Musashi has learned how to live off the land and provide for herself while on uncertain roads, in a variety of different locales. Anyone caught out in the wilderness with her can rely upon her survival skills to keep them fed and sheltered at least.
More importantly however, is her mastery of Niten Ichiryu, the dual-sword style she developed and perfected after her death as a Heroic Servant. As the style’s creator, Musashi is one of its most skilled and powerful practitioners (though the Iori of the Waxing Moon Ritual was able to defeat her using a special modification he’d come up with after the death of his Musashi she wasn’t expecting). Niten Ichiryu is a powerful style that employs multiple stances (Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, and Void) and unlike Iori, who had to manually switch to each stance as circumstances and the flow of battle dictated, Musashi is able to seamlessly blend each style without having to formally adopt the associated stance, though she favours Fire, Water, and Void over Earth (which focuses on using a single sword for powerful, deliberate strikes), and Wind (the other single-sword stance, which keeps a hand-free for jewel magecraft).

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
Musashi is a character who reached the end of her character development and purpose in GO, but now finds herself in a world she can't easily leave, having completed her goal of perfecting her swordsmanship. However, thanks to being a Berserker, she will view this as a great challenge and exciting adventure, and take to Magisteria like a fish to water.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world? Despite having completed her goal of achieving “zero” and supposedly being freed from the cycle of reincarnation, Musashi will take to Magisteria with excitement and verve. As a Berserker, she is less concerned with perfecting her swordsmanship like her Saber self was, and is able to find fulfillment and enjoyment in other ways. As a Saber, she saw nothing for herself after perfecting her style, and made it clear she had no time for any distractions, like romance. Her Berserker self has no such worries, and despite still being stuck in the cycle of reincarnation, will find this world an exciting opportunity to explore and will be very gung-ho about trying something new to study. She’s also somewhat eager to be able to put down somewhat more permanent routes and not have to worry about rayshifting away. After a lifetime and afterlife of wandering, being able to put some roots down somewhere does appeal.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise? Throwing herself into a new discipline will be an exciting challenge for her now that she’s perfected her Niten, though she may require some help in actually finding a field of magic to focus on, due to her Berserker nature making it harder to stick with something. She’ll also be interested in getting out and exploring as much of this world as she can, especially if it means finding a way past the barrier that blocks off the island.

Basics

Character Name: Jardani Jovonovich, known better as John Wick
Character Age: Early-mid 40s
Canon: John Wick series
Series Info: https://johnwick.fandom.com/wiki/John_Wick#Biography
Canon Point: Post-John Wick: Chapter 4

Abilities

Character Abilities: While not possessing any supernatural or high technological abilities, John spent decades training himself into a man of peak human physical condition. In terms of strength, speed, endurance, stamina, and reflexes, John has honed his body into a lethal killing machine, to the point where despite being into middle-age (Keanu Reeves was 50 while filming the first film, though I’m playing John as a little bit younger than that) John can easily match up against multiple opponents a decade or more his junior. He can also take a beating like few others; in the span of perhaps two weeks (the time from Chapter 1 to 3) John suffers multiple injuries including multiple hits from cars, and ended with him falling off the roof of the Continental Hotel after being shot point-blank in the gut, but always managed to get back up and keep fighting, though he need four months to recover before going after the High Table in Chapter 4, which is still an immensely compressed timeframe for the amount of punishment he went through).
Character Skills: A more formal list of John’s extensive list of skills, but to wit; he is very, very, very, very good at killing people.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game? John thought he was finally getting peace, but finding himself in Magisteria will leave him listless and without purpose. He wants to continue living so that his wife’s memory will live on, but without Helen John doesn’t know how to live in peace, and yet he doesn’t want to go back to a life of killing. John trying to find a new purpose, or a better reason to pick up a gun than serving criminal interests, is what I hope to use as his character arc in Magisterium.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
With great difficulty, for the reasons listed above, though John is motivated to try. He was told several times over the course of his crusade that he was addicted to vengeance, and anger, and his inability to let things go or properly understand the consequences of his actions (such as his murder of the Elder) lead to not only his own circumstances worsening, but also in the deaths of several good friends, as well as the High Table targeting anyone who had helped him, even if the help had come before his excommunication, and John finds it difficult to refute those accusations. He wants to try and find a new way to live, but isn’t really equipped mentally or emotionally for it, which will make living in Magisteria an interesting nut to crack, especially if he does become tempted to fall back into bad habits.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
Mostly, just the chance to start over. While he’s alive, Helen’s memory is kept alive in him, which is incentive enough to keep going, and in Magisteria there’s no High Table, no past as the legendary Baba Yaga to haunt him, no enemies coming for him. It’s an unprecedented opportunity for peace, if he can learn to live with it, and hopefully find a reason to want to defend if threatened.

Basics

Character Name: Murderbot, public alias SecUnit
Character Age: unknown – adult.
Canon: The Murderbot Diaries
Series Info: wiki
Canon Point: post-System Collapse

Abilities

Character Abilities: Murderbot is an android, a combination of human parts and highly advanced robotics. It's designed for security, so it has superhuman speed and strength, and can take some pretty heavy damage and survive (including, technically, detaching its limbs, but it doesn't generally do that since it's pretty inconvenient). It can turn down it's pain sensors, does not need food or water (and only needs a small amount of oxygen), switch it's eyesight to night vision, and so forth. Its biomechanical brain also processes information much faster than humans do, allows it to store large amounts of information (a significant portion of its onboard storage is TV shows/movies/books/etc), and can juggle multiple inputs at once (so it's often watching TV while also doing its job). In canon it can wirelessly connect with other systems, including “the feed”, which is basically the Internet.
Character Skills: Coding and hacking. Data analysis. Extensive knowledge of soap operas. Its friends think it's a good writer.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game? The setting is similar enough to Murderbot's canon that it'll feel pretty familiar, so in some ways it will fit in well. However, the fantasy themes and the acquisition of new abilities/powers is enough to push it out of its comfort zone. Also, the “acts of mutual cooperation” stuff for Synthesis will make it hilariously uncomfortable, since it's emotionally constipated and fairly touch-averse.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world? Murderbot approaches most everything with extreme caution and paranoia, and the facts that it will be unable to hack most/all systems and that the energy weapons in its arms will be offline won't make it feel any safer. (The tattoo will also be an issue – it dislikes anything with logos on it, because it already has logos permanently on its body, and they mark it as property instead of an individual.) On the other hand, the existence of a healthy bot culture and the prospect of new TV shows/movies/books/games will be exciting.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise? At first: all of the tech that goes into the setting, and how the natives use it and its fellow Otherworlders adapt to it. As a machine intelligence specializing in hacking and security, it's always interested in what technology is being used where.

Eventually: the concept of it, a bot/human hybrid, being able to create “life energy” in the form of Bios. Murderbot is very aware that it's a person, a living being who deserves autonomy and rights; but for a vast majority of its life, it's been treated as an object, not even 'alive' enough to deserve to be rescued when damaged. So, despite it knowing that logically it should be treated like a person, it consistently expects not to be, and in some ways rebels against the idea of it due to its internalized self-loathing. Accepting that it's just like its fellow Otherworlders (at least in this respect) will be a good exercise in learning to accept itself.

if it's ok, Murderbot will be coming in with three (3) intel drones, which are basically just little flying cameras that it can control to observe things remotely/look at people without having to actually look at them/set up security perimeters/etc. (I've picked 3 because it has at least that many in its current canon-point, but if that's too many, at least 1 would be appreciated – in some ways they're extensions of its own self. Dr. Mensah explains their function as “a medical issue, that I [Murderbot] needed them to fully interact with my environment and communicate”.)

Basics

Character Name: Jiyu
Character Age: 20
Canon: Vampire: the Masquerade (tabletop oc)
Series Info: Vampire: the Masquerade (TTRPG), from Indy's chronicle "Vampire: San Antonio." Her chronicle takes place in an urban fantasy version of San Antonio, Texas (~like our world, but with vampires~,) set in the year of 2022. Most real life pop culture and political references are the same, with a few exceptions.
- Information on the World of Darkness
- Information on Vampire the Masquerade
- Information on Odette's clan, the Toreadors
Canon Point: After her coterie McMurders Eric.

Abilities

Character Abilities: There's an exhaustive list in her journal
Character Skills:

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
I feel like Odette would get a lot of mileage out of the mission style element of the game! Since a large chunk of the VtM tabletop game is running errands for various NPCs, it's a concept she'd be largely familiar with and wouldn't have any qualms adjusting to.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
Odie's biggest hurdles in the game are going to be this: being separated from her coterie, and being depowered at the beginning. The first is going to hurt quite a bit! Her coterie is basically her first real family, given her troubled relationship with her parents. But she is quite the social butterfly, and shouldn't have any issues making friends! The second would be a bit of a disorienting feeling for her! Vampirism is the first time she's really had any autonomy in her life, and was a conscious choice on her part. However, she's quite willful, and would adjust to chasing after her dream (being a real life magical girl!) and would find a lot of security in pursuing the magic path.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
The first, is that this world would be something of a second chance for her! As that she often finds the politics of vampire society to be quite frustrating (in particular, operating on the rule of 'not getting caught' for vampire activity). Since the Masquerade no longer applies, she'll try to be open about her vampirism for the most part, and not have to deal with the same restraints (such as being able to feed without having to be discreet.) The second, as mentioned above, would be the magic of Medeas. Odette has always been fascinated with magical girl anime, so being able to learn and harness its power for herself would be dream come true for her.

Basics

Character Name: BISHOP (given name Samuel Joseph Mercer)
Character Age: 36
Canon: Original
Series Info: (feel free to link a wiki) N/A
Canon Point:
Here
Two years after being enlisted to the Murakami’s PMC as a special agent

Abilities

Character Abilities: (write out or wiki)
Demon Blood Curse – Pseudo Demon Physiology: Bishop’s body and soul is stained with the blood of many demons that were slain by him, and in retaliation, they cursed him. The curse makes him unable to die from old age but it doesn’t prevent him from getting killed, he simple stops aging after a certain point. The curse also makes it that he will one day be killed by a demon, and when that happens, his soul becomes theirs to torture for eternity. This also, however, yielded some unexpected side effects. He’s stronger, faster, has heightened senses, minor regeneration, and sturdier than normal humans and can detect demons or any unholy aura in an area around him(roughly 50 meters, though the further it is the less precise it is). To put it in more tangible perspective he’s can be compared to a Servant from the Fate series, amazing physical and or magical abilities with a few weaknesses. Bishop’s stats are:

Shapeshiftting: Avian – Avian: Bishop also gained the ability to change his form, though he has a great affinity with birds. At first he could theoretically turn into other creatures, but over the years and with his preference to turn into his favorite bird, the Eurasian Eagle Owl, this ability had evolved and devolved in the sense that he can now only turn into birds. The trade-off is that he can easily take the form of any bird who’s physiology he knows well. His enhanced physical condition also translates into his avian forms and he can also communicate via telepathy, although this only means he can speak directly into someone's head. Other than that, he cannot probe or assault anyone mentally.

Character Skills:

Elemental Feather Magic: Bishop is able to use various elements for combat and espionage purposes, although his skill pales in comparison to a real wizard. With his training he’s able to create and enchant feathers with elements and use them as various projectiles. He throw them as darts, have them drift and linger in the air like mines, or extend and harden them to become make shift knives or swords. He can also enchant the feathers on his body when transformed, like coating himself in fire or lightning without causing himself harm. His only limit is his imagination when it comes to its usage however; one flaw of this power is the fact the feathers change color. An observant foe can pick up on which element he’s going to use by just watching. Same applies for his custom magitech gun, Hunting Shadow. He posses some healing magic but he's only able to close small to medium sized wounds and known poisons. Life threatening wounds are beyond and specially made poison cocktails his ability.

Highly Skilled Combatant: Being trained and mastering several different martial art disciplines, Bishop is more than capable in a fight. Combined with his pseudo-demon physiology, he’s a force to be reckoned with. He prefers to fight with weapons rather than with his fists with knives, guns, and his trusty katana being his go to arms. His fighting style is uses a lot of deception and underhanded strategies and tricks. On the off chance he does encounter someone he wants to fight fairly, he uses the style of kenjutsu taught to him by Queen.

Espionage: Bishop’s first specialty is scouting which later included assassination. He has remarkable skill with tracking and hunting, and with his shape shifting ability he’s able to remain undetected for days. He is especially effective in terrain with heavy foliage. This is also includes computer know how, though he is most familiar with hacking into magitech computers.

Cooking, Baking, and Bartending: Bishop is a great cook and his skills have only gotten better with time. His time in Tokyo and working at various places expanded his repertoire giving him a lot of experience with baking and bartending as well.

Music, dancing, and singing: Bishop was taught how to play the guitar and sing by Chevalier. He was also taught how to dance by Knight, just in case he had to blend in at a formal party.

Language - Knows how to speak several languages (German, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Italian, French) with English and Japanese being the ones he uses most often.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
Bishop is from a world thats similar in the sense his world has magic infused technology, but is constantly engaged in war with monsters. It’d be interesting to see how he adjusts to a setting that’s at peace and have him explore life with little to no conflict, letting him have more time to explore sides of himself that lives outside of fighting and survival.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
I can see him struggling a little without having a battle to fight, and living like he’s burning the candle at both ends just to keep his mind occupied since he feels like he’s still being tested or has to prove himself.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
He finds the entire city and its adaption of magitech interesting and wants to see how far his world is from achieving the same kind of technology, which means he’ll often be poking his nose into some kind machine when he can. Other than that, he’ll try to learn more about the world in general and see what mindset or philosophy, or general ideas, that he can bring back to his own world.

What interests you most about playing this character in this game? The people to bounce him off seem fun! And he's really adjusted to his milieu and basically compeltely confident in how it works, even if he's being persecuted by how it works, so throwing him out of that is interesting. They're caged in the city but it's also more freedom than he's ever had in terms of Hell and Heaven not being here to punish him, so there's a lot to do with that.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world? He's going to want to get the lay of the land so he knows like, what he can get away with and what's expected of him. and when he knows what's expected of him, he can decide whether he wants to comply with that or not, or where he wants to question or rebel.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise? he's not required to be evil! but he's so used to it I'm not sure he knows how to stop at least pretending to be! there's a lot of freedom here... or at least it looks like it, to start with, he's definitely suspicious of that

Character Name: The Lone Wanderer AKA Angel
Character Age: 23
Canon: Fallout 3
Series Info: (feel free to link a wiki) Info here
Canon Point: 4 years post canon

Abilities

Character Abilities: Because there are so many different abilities or "Perks" in Fallout games, I am limiting Angel to having just a few. Angel has the gun nut and swift learner perks. These two perks help her out in the Wasteland. Being a Gun Nut helps her skills in the use and repair of regular guns. With everything that wants to kill a person in the Wasteland, being able to use and repair guns is essential. Because she lived a bit of a sheltered life in Vault 101, the Lone Wanderer needs to learn about things quickly on her feet. There's no one in the Wasteland that's going to hold her hand and explain how things work. She's got to figure it out on her own and quickly if she wants to survive. She also has the Scrounger perk, making it easier to find things, usually ammunition.
Character Skills: Again, because there are so may different skills in Fallout, I'm limiting her to these skills: small guns, lockpick, and repair skills. This means that she's good with regular guns, such as rifles and pistols. Her aim is good and she knows how to use the weapons in her hands. She's also good at picking locks. Give her a screwdriver and bobby pin and she can open almost any lock. And she's also good at fixing things. Guns, armor, other things that need to be fixed and she can pretty much do it.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?

I love seeing how Angel can adapt to what is going on around her. She is from a world were everything is destroyed and everything and everyone wants to kill her. She's not used to being around so many people. I also enjoy seeing how she reacts to all of the different people that have also been brought here. And shocking them a bit when they learn about her destroyed home.
How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?

She's going to be in awe of everything for a long time. She's also going to be a bit more reserved as she isn't used to being around so many people. All of the settlements that she's been to combined are smaller than the city that she has access to right now. It'll be a bit overwhelming, but she'll adapt.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?

The level of technology will catch her attention first. Its so much more advanced than what she is used to seeing. Her Pip-Boy doesn't even compare to what she sees around her. She won't understand magic at the start, but she'll eventually get the basics. She'll focus on tech mostly because it's what she understands.

[There's a bit of humming for a moment before she finally figures out the final settings to get her Pip-Boy to be able to send messages with the network. Her voice sounds like an old radio announcer.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me? I think I was able to get this connected to the network here. I'm kind of surprised, since the level of tech is so different. The Brotherhood would have a heart attack with how advanced things are here.

I've never seen a city like this. It's so big. I think that all of the settlements back in the Wasteland combined wouldn't be nearly as big as this place. It's amazing. And none of it's destroyed or irradiated. I don't think that the bombs ever dropped in this place. At least, not like in my world.

Anything else?

Angel does have a dog, known as Dogmeat. I don't have her with him on the TDM, but if she could find him after arrival that would be amazing.

Abilities

Character Abilities: Magus Killer boom de yada (in the wiki)
Character Skills: I am not writing about Urobuchi gun shit (also in the wiki.)

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
I feel like this is a setting Kiritsugu would very much thrive in. In his assassin work, he blends his use of magic and modern technology to bypass obstacles and ensnare mages into his traps. I think he has the potential to enhance his preexisting skills, and develop a unique view on the false dichotomy of the magic / tech divide.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
Kiritsugu is a master at compartmentalization. He's going to feel a bit disoriented, certainly. He has responsibilities. To his children: nurturing Shirou and his growth, to going back and forth to Germany to save Illya from her cruel fate. He's dying, and he knows it. But years of living in war zones and taking assassination job has taught him how to swallow his emotions. He's pragmatic, and can adjust.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
Kiritsugu is a person who has a deep interest in science and technology. He'd be curious to learn about the technological advancements since his time, and just how to adapt them to his needs. I could see him taking an interest in field medicine, pinging his desire to help others after leading a life of violence.

Character Abilities: Wiki
Character Skills: Strong logic skills, good at puzzle solving, his ult is based on L + Ratio… Is stubbornness a skill? In a sense that he won’t stop trying to figure something out until he actually figures it out. Deadly accurate with a piece of chalk.

Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
Ratio is an incredibly structured man. To take him and throw him in a place that has different rules and different magic / technology than he’s used to will get him to think and adapt… maybe more than he would back in the Honkai worlds. Most things will be similar to home, but different enough he’s going to be a bit wary and out of his comfort zone.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
Reluctantly. At first I can see him trying to figure out how to leave, instead of stay. But once he realizes he’s stuck there for a while, he’s going to slide into researching things, just like he does in canon. (It’s a comfort thing, really.)

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
By the Aeons, why is it so pink. Any sort of combinations of biological life and technology. Sure, there’s a whole robot planet where he’s from, but give him technological plants. Robot Animals. Things like that.

Basics

Character Name: Elidibus (real name: Themis; "Elidibus" is a title, but it's what he goes by with most people)
Character Age: Old by our standards + at least 12,000 after that
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Series Info: Wiki
Canon Point: Patch 6.4

Abilities

Character Abilities: The wiki doesn't have a section about his powers, so handwritten it is! This may not be a fully comprehensive list, just the things we know or can extrapolate from in canon.

  • Teleportation of himself and other people

  • Levitation/flight(?) (Emet-Selch is stated to be capable of flight, and Elidibus is also shown to levitate a number of times, so it's fair to assume he might be able to do so as well, being on a similar level of magically adept)

  • Creating solid ground from nothing (i.e. boss arenas, how convenient!)

  • Creation magic, which can be used in the making of animals and familiars as well as inanimate objects, but cannot create anything with a soul

  • Basic elemental magic, though he seems to be most specialized in light and darkness specifically

  • Assuming the bodies of others, living or dead; he seems to prefer using the bodies of the dead, though, based upon his track record (he's never taken one that was still alive... that we have seen in canon, at least)

  • Crossing the Rift (aka the space between Etheirys's shards created by Hydaelyn, a feat that sort of pairs with the teleportation bit)

  • A potent binding spell learned from Erichthonios

  • Transformation of the body, often to less-than-human, even eldritch forms, but this can also apply to things as minor as altering the features of his physical form

  • Character Skills: As he is very quick to pick up new concepts, magic comes as easily for him as breathing. Though he has little in the way of things like hardcore survival skills and the like, he's difficult to top when it comes to magical adaptation. He also is in possession of an exceptionally cool head and rational judgment, and is able to analyze any situations he's in logically without panic or fear for the most part. He was well-respected by his peers for it, in fact, despite being much younger than most of them.

And as a side note... he plays piano, even if he's long forgotten the majority of it over the 12,000 years of disuse.

    Approach

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?

So, Elidibus, coming from a "perfect" society, would have lots of opinions on a place with political or social struggles like this one that would be fun to mess around with. I'd also like to explore and develop his resignation at being dead and never getting his world back in one piece into something a little more hopeful, since the last scenes with him end on a very positive note, and I want to shine a light on that.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?

He'll adapt quickly to the magical aspects while marveling at the ones he isn't familiar with, i.e. the tech side of things. It's impressive sometimes, the things mortals can come up with! I suspect he'll get on much more easily than other characters in his position might to being alive again, too. (Emet-Selch. I'm talking about Emet-Selch.)

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?

Well, as stated above, it's a shot at a new life, even if it's borrowed time. Something is better than nothing, which is a fact he'll embrace pretty quickly. Having friends there is a plus, but even if he were alone, I think he'd find the ability to live somewhere that is not Etheirys interesting. And the fact they can bring not only the dead back, but the permanently sundered. What's that all about?

    Samples

    Log-style Sample: TDM
    Net-style Sample: From Expiation

    Anything else?

Though the ancients easily exceeded 15-20 feet tall in canon (and he could probably just restore himself to that height if he wanted to), he'll be shrunk down to normal mortal size by default. Also, I'm willing to nerf game-breaking powers to whatever extent is deemed necessary, of course.

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
Emerick is sort of in general the opposite of V, so I am interested in interacting with the game from another point of view. Emerick is also the type that would go for the magical side of things and I rather would like to have the opportunity to interact with that half of the game as well. Emerick makes friends a lot more easily than V and will probably just have a lot more CR opportunities in general because of his people-pleasing tendencies.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
Emerick will struggle a little in that he will have lost the few people he loves deeply, but overall he is glad to be out of Night City. He's in a very toxic work environment and the idea of not having his employer breathing down his neck all the time will be such a huge relief he will hardly care what the deal with the game world is. Eventually he will feel a lot of guilt even though the transition to here gives the reassurance that he will be able to return - a sort of survivor's guilt.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
Magic is real and how does that work, history and politics (but like, in the 400 page thesis paper that someone wrote for their phd kind of way), new stars to learn and chart, and everyone's even more diverse than Night City somehow. There's just... A lot more opportunity in general here, as opposed to Night City, and he's not being dragged to down by a toxic boss. Emerick is just glad to be here and he'll figure out his interests as he gets the chance to exist. (Which is to say, it'll likely vary as the game evolves. Emerick is a HUGE nerd in the most square of ways.)

    Abilities

Character Abilities: Honestly it might be more informative to link her trailers than the wiki. Here's the wiki, though. Monodrama trailer. Behind the Curtain trailer. Sparkling Tricks trailer. She can definitely summon goldfish made of light of various sizes and disguise herself as other people. Judging by her idle animations, she can also physically demanifest except for her mask, and pop back into existence from her mask alone. Ability to fake her own corpse may be a regain outside of the virtual world, lol.
Character Skills: Consummate actor, good at cold-reading for weaknesses.

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
Gonna fuck with EVERYONE. Bouncing her off of people is so much fun. It is probably possible for her to find something to do that's entertaining enough that she wants to do things other than cause intense chaos.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
She doesn't know where the foundations and levers are of everything yet, so she's not going to go straight to civil unrest. She's most invested in people having the freedom to be interesting--I'm pretty sure she was on Penacony in the first place because the Elation did not want Gopher Wood's plans to succeed and make a whole star system permanently boring.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
There are a lot of different types of people and a lot of potential conflicts to stoke between them! Both in terms of PCs and in terms of NPCs. Technology vs Magic, FIGHT!

    Basics

    Character Name: Erichthonios
Character Age: Undefined; young adult in a nigh-immortal race
    Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Series Info: FFXIV Fandom Wiki, and his character page on said wiki.
Canon Point: The end of Patch 6.4 quest "Guided by the Past", as his living self.

    Abilities

    Character Abilities:
Teleportation: Spatial teleportation involving the manifestation of a dark portal.

Aetherial shackles: Binds a single target. He's very good at this, having practiced these magicks since early childhood.

Internment: Binds the target as would aetherial shackles, but additionally freezes the space around them. Though he shows skill in being able to use the spell, he requires the infusion of another's aether to pull it off.

Creation Magicks: Though we have yet to see Erichthonios use them, those of his kind are able to wield creation magicks, and are able to make any concept they can understand and picture, save for that of a human soul. None are thus far stated to be without this ability, though some need to pull aether from other sources to manipulate. As Erichthonios canonly struggles with many magicks on his own, it stands to reason that he will struggle in attempts to use these.

Healing: while not directly shown, it is said that Erichthonios assisted his father in healing the warders and creations after regaining control over Pandæmonium. Any application of these magicks would be minor, as he is not known to be proficient in them.

Transformation: Allows Erichthonios to form a second, larger body around himself that is a manifestation of his truth. He is shown to be able to use fire, ice, light/holy, and magicks tinged with dark-aspected aether. He is able to pull weapons out of the hole in his chest present in this form.

Character Skills: He is accustomed to caretaking for unusual and dangerous creatures. Although he seems a nervous sort, he is able to keep his head in extreme circumstances. Furthermore, although he is slow in thinking and insecure in his own abilities, he is actually rather intelligent.

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
I miss playing with my friends, and playing this character in this canon would allow me to seamlessly integrate into playing with them again. I also just love playing this particular character.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
He will fumble through attempts at learning all the things. Some things may go over his head, and it will take him time to learn. He's a very curious soul.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
He would be fascinated by the setting's technological progress. He is from a magic-based society, so seeing people who don't use magic finding ways to accomplish great feats will leave him a little awestruck.

Seeing as others have been shrunk for the setting, Erichthonios will also need shrinking to fit the environs.
