Institutions of Medeas and Magisteria
I. The Royal Government
I. The Royal Government

Located in the Enchantech Assembly, the government of Medeas is a constitutional monarchy, in which most of the governing concerns of day-to-day life are met by elected officials. Representatives are elected from the different districts of the city and different regions of the world, and are in session for most of the calendar year. Though a great deal of power lies in the legislature, the final say on enacting any laws lies with the sovereign.
Parliamentary elections are held every two years by law, with a five term limit. Sometimes, these terms have been held non-consecutively, but the five term limit is still strongly upheld. The Order and the CTA, however, have their own rules for leadership, most of which are not common knowledge outside their halls.

II. The Order of Mysterium

Nestled on the border of the Mysticaire District and the Elysian Grove, the Order of Mysterium is housed in a structure that flows with the plants and trees that have grown nearby, but don't let that fool you: to step inside the Order's halls is to step into a lack of physical constraints. What may, from the outside, look like a wall of doors with no space between them does not mean that each door opens onto a space no larger than a closet or a hall no wider than your shoulders. Instead, you may find an alchemical laboratory or a library of floating bookcases. That is, if you can open the door at all.
More than anything else, the Order of Mysterium is known for secrets - a statement that seems like irony until anyone tries to learn more of what's behind their walls without either permission or direction. Very little is known about the machinations and politics that occur behind closed doors, except that death or disgrace are the only reasons an Order member might lose their position. More than any other institution on Magisteria, the Order operates on nepotism. Offices tend to go from master to apprentice, and more often than not, those apprentices are family of the masters. Magic, it's said, travels through bloodlines, and the Order follows that same principle.

III. The Council for Technological Advancement

Sitting squarely in the Aetherium District, the CTA houses everything from digital libraries, laboratories for biological, chemical, computer, quantum, and a myriad other forms of experimentation, and simulation environments to limit damage that might occur from more hazardous forms of experiment. They're open about their intention to push at technological boundaries, especially as it comes to finding ways to defend Medeas from any threat.
As such, it isn't so surprising that the CTA works closely with the military. Even if most of their physical augmentation options are open to anyone with the money and willpower to undergo the procedures, some are limited to registered military members only.
All the same, if any Otherworlder finds themselves interested in joining the Council for Technological Advancements, any are welcome to try their hand. Just be ready to prove your worth over and over again in an organisation that has been called a "cutthroat meritocracy."
