Unto itself, this is nothing new: Otherworlders have been arriving in Magisteria for eons now. However, these new groups are different from those who have come before.
They have unique tattoos and they are capable of engaging in something called Synthesis, or cooperative acts which can produce Bios, the life energy which sustains the multiverse. This is significant because while the natives of Magisteria can replenish their Bios via various means, they cannot actually bypass the law of equivalent exchange to produce new Bios for the city-state and the world itself.
🌠 SIGNIFICANT POINTS OF THE FIRST TDM
♣️ The Projection: Minister Brennam Tyrgen greets Otherworlders on behalf of the enigmatic sovereign of the city-state of Magisteria, informing them of their unique status relative to previous Otherworlders, as well as the fact that each will need to pursue specialization in tech [The Council for Technological Advancement, or CTA] or magic [The Order of Mysterium].
♣️ Otherworlders meet another native, Seraphine Nova, who greets them at the transportation station in High Rise Village and escorts them on a train ride to the apartment complex, Evergreen Terrace. A half-human, half-AI girl, she speaks of her belief in "Everything for the Best in this, the Best of all Possible Worlds" [paraphrase] and expresses curiosity about the Otherworlders and what they may yet do for this world, but she has a generally guarded demeanor, indicating there's a lot she herself does not quite know/understand.
♣️ Otherworlders explore Evergreen Terrace, the luxury high rise apartment complex where the city's elite, both techies and magic users, reside. The apartment complex is home to all manner of magic and advanced technology, featuring fully customizable rooms which can take on virtually any appearance, and multiple artificial ponds and infinity pools around which often reside nymphs and elemental water faeries.
♣️ At the apartments, Otherworlders encounter: AR art installations which refuse to stay put, dubious cryptofish who induce unlucky travellers into dispensing bad financial advice (turns out, they're twin invasive species), robots throwing a party, and Atlas, the AI caretaker of the apartments. Atlas informs Otherworlders that they will soon meet his two colleagues, Malik and Ava, who have a surprise in store for them.
♣️ At night, Otherworlders are invited to explore Eden 6, "Neon Heaven," the Entertainment District of Magisteria. They encounter such entertainments as sky-racing, arcade challenges against neon demon egirls who go hard with video games, the ultimate euphoric party drug, Verve, and, most significantly for game plot reasons, some Otherworlders overhear a conversation between two demon girls in the district that hints at things to come.
